An Artist in the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro: I read this book as part of Kristin’s Ishiguro 2025 read along. I have long considered Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go an all time favorite but haven’t read any of his other books so I am excited to be a part of this challenge. I enjoyed this one but definitely need to get a bit more adjusted to Ishiguro’s writing style. I felt like I never fully settled in but am excited to keep making way through Ishiguro’s catalog.
The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz: I had a huge love-hate relationship with this book. I usually am intrigued by unlikeable characters but I truly couldn’t stand the people in The Plot. That said, I could not stop reading and read quickly to know what happened. I will also say that I do not typically predict a twist and I did here which I found unsatisfying.
