Hi All,
Finding balance usually feels nearly impossible for me but this week we did it. Caroline leaves for a semester in Copenhagen next week so there has been lots of organizing, planning and stressing. Katherine and I took a day trip to explore a college option. And… in the midst of all this hard stuff, we went to the beach. The weather on Wednesday was perfect- the kind of weather that you would order for a beach day if such a thing were possible. And to make the day even better, I read almost all of Drowning by T.J. Newman.
I had avoided this book because it starts with a plane crash and who wants to read about that? Well… it turns out, I do because I could not put this book down. If you read Newman’s earlier book, Falling and liked it, your next read should be Drowning. The writing is far from literary. There are way too many unbelievable plot twists and many of the characters are fairly flat. But… I could not stop reading until I knew what happened and I cried at the end. And sometimes this is just the kind of reading experience I need.
Now onto Reading. Listening. Watching. and as always, I’d love to hear what you have been enjoying as well!
xo,
Stacey
