Hi All,
I can’t remember the last time I tried something wholly and completely new. Can you? There is so much beauty in aging and figuring things out but wow! I had forgotten how fun it can also be to explore something I have never done before.
As most of us are, I am constantly trying to figure out how to spend less time on my phone. At the end of the day, when dinner is done and I have a little time to relax, I have been scrolling way more than I like. In order to read, unfortunately, I need distractions to be pretty minimal so instead of reading during this time, I have been defaulting to Instagram and Facebook.
A few weeks ago, as I was scrolling, Grace Atwood, an influencer I have been following for years, posted a picture of herself needlepointing. I have always associated needlepoint with my grandfather who did incredible work but it turns out, needlepoint is now having a moment with a much younger generation. Social media is full of needle pointers. Who knew?!
I was intrigued and the timing was perfect. The next week, I was visiting with my cousin who is also a beautiful needle pointer and she was able to give me a quick lesson, some blank canvas and lots of thread.
And a new obsession has been born…Any needle pointers out there? I would love to chat!
But don’t worry, needlepointing is the perfect hobby to do while listening to audiobooks and podcasts so I have a lot of reading, listening and watching to report on below.
And as always, I would love to hear what you have been loving these days!
xo,
Stacey
