Hi All,
Earlier today, Rob and I dropped Katherine at the airport for her flight back to Pittsburgh after her early spring break week. It was so great have her at home! On our way back, we went to Tops Diner. The wait was long but the breakfast was delicious and whoever was in charge of their recent renovation hit the design out of the park. The photo above is from the hallway on the way to the restroom. The whole place is gorgeous and feels both brand new and like an old school diner which was just the best!
Tops was packed and as we waited for our food, I commented on how strange it is to be going about our lives as if things are normal- as if the administration isn’t doing all the terrible things it is doing. When we got to the car, I saw that a friend had sent a clip from the remarkable Heather Cox Richardson. In the clip she says, “authoritarianism can not rise if there are strong communities and people are acting with joy.” Well, that diner was full of people in community acting with joy so that is what I am going to hang on to this week.
That and the fact that there is one more episode of Paradise being released. Who has seen this amazing and completely disturbing show?! I devoured all the released episodes of this Hulu series over the course of this week after Caroline told me I would love it. I have so much to say about Paradise but frankly anything I would say is spoiler-y. This show is dark and scary and feels more than a little bit too real right now so if you are a sensitive watcher I am not sure I recommend it. But if you have watched it or when you do, please reach out to me- I would love to discuss!
And in the meantime, please share what you are reading, watching or listening to this week.
xo,
Stacey
