Today in yoga, our teacher said, “What are your three wins since December?” In my head, I immediately started to list the things our girls had done well. In the middle of a global pandemic, Caroline and Katherine continue to amaze me with their resilience, strength and ability to keep getting stuff done. But… that was not the question and I was stumped.
Why is it so much easier to celebrate everyone else? Why are we good at viewing others through a window of strength but insist on viewing ourselves through a window of challenge?
Just like our kids, we are also putting one foot in front of the other in the midst of a pandemic. For nearly one year, we have kept our families safe. We have done countless things to keep our houses running and our families fed. We have weighed our children’s emotional health and physical health in seemingly a million decisions every single day. So why when asked to name three good things that I have done, was I tongue tied?
I’ve given it a little more thought and I am ready to share. I hope you will share along with me! Please comment or email me with your Three Wins- big or small!
Here are mine:
I started posting on Instagram stories. I love watching other bookstagrammers talk books on social media and I finally decided to get over my stage fright (screen fright?) and start posting too.
I am cooking more meals that taste good and fewer meals that taste like feet.
I re-started making daily to do lists and am procrastinating less.
