Dear Substack,
I crave simplicity. Therefore, when I launched my new website last winter, I moved away from you. I used the ‘mailing list’ feature on my website when I wanted to send out a message. When I wanted to write, I a created a page on my site called ‘Musings’ where I could, you know- muse. But after a year-ish of using my website for all things- including my newsletter- I have acknowledged the truth. While the simplicity of keeping everything in one place sounded good in theory, in practice Substack is the place for newsletters to be.
So… I am back. I’m sorry to have strayed. Substack- you know what you are doing. I missed you. Also, I realized that Stacey Loscalzo Reads is my own gig. I can come and go from Substack as I please so here I am- back again.
I would also like to let you know that I brought some new friends with me. They signed up for my newsletter on my website so I brought them over here with me. Hope you don’t mind.
And in case you wanted to catch up I thought I would share what I am reading, watching and listening to these days.
This week, I am:
READING… The Owl Always Hunts at Night by Samuel Bjork in print and Anatomy by Dana Schwartz on audio
LISTENING TO… February Reading Recap (From the Front Porch), Learning to Trust Your Reading Instincts (What Should I Read Next), Mo News (Mo News Podcast)
WATCHING… The Last of Us, The Society, The Menu
Till next time!
xo, Stacey
p.s. Substack allows for comments my friend- please comment and let me know what you are reading, watching and/or listening to this week!
I am watching and loving The Last of Us, listening to The Daily and Smartless, and Reading Sworn to Silence. The book was an old rec from you. It pulled me out of my reading funk and has kept my attention!
Have we discussed The Menu?? 😳
